     The Holywell Poor Law Union record (G/B/134/277 - Whitford District)for 26/5/1854 shows Robert Evans (aged 60) living at BerthentonLlanasa with Catherine nee Holland (aged 47) his wife. Their childrenMary (age 11) twins Elizabeth & Catherine (age 8), Thomas (age 4) andJoseph (age 2) were living at home with them. The record shows thatRobert was in a very poor state of health and was confined to bed.Inthe application dated 26/5/1854 Robert applied for half a pint of wineand food which had been ordered by the Medical Officer. He was givenwine valued at 1/- and food valued at 2/- and granted a 5/- per weekfor a further 2 weeks. Earlier ecords dated 20/1/1854 showed thatRobert had been confined to bed for 3 months.
