     Committed Suicide by taking Lycol poison.

White(s) Alley was adjacent to George St located between the DroversArms Public House and the Cattle Market and was directly behind BackBrook Street. By 1911 the Alley and the Pub had made way for anAgricultural Hall and Auction Room for the Cattle market.

According Annie Griffith Joe used to get drunk and pawn things.Eventually he committed Suicide by taking Lysol poison . He made anornamental steel stool which is still in the possession of AnnieGriffith. (See press cuttings from Chester Chronicle regarding hisdeath)

     In Royal Navy. Retired as a Petty Officer when invalided out beforeWW2. In hospital at Gobowen for 2 years at Gobowen ans subsequentlyhad to wear a support in later life. He wa stationed in Malta forseveral years.
