     Note from Hugh Holland Edward's notebook in the Nanhoran EstateRecords held at Carnarfonshire Archive Ref XDS/11/1; Robert Roberts was a clergyman but had no preferment in the church, he succeeded to his paternal estate of Friog and having no issue by his first wife Catherine Lloyd of Pwlleli married second his maidservant by whom he previously had an illegitimate male child and afterwards had daughters born in wedlock. The three eldest emigrated to America, married in NewYork, and were living there in 1834. The other two sisters are now, in1837, residing with their mother at Maentwrog, county of Merioneth.These five sisters, the baptised daughters of the reverend Robert Roberts of Friog are the right heirs to my real estates of Pennant

     Note from Hugh Holland Edward's notebook in the Nanhoran Estate Records held at Carnarfonshire Archive Ref XDS/11/1; Thomas Roberts not being born in wedlock, although he inherits under the special wish of his father the real estate of Friog, cannot be considered by me in any other light than illegitimate. I have written this from the information of my executor **** whom it may hereafter concern as necessary to be known.

Individual Note:
     There is disagreement as to the spouse of Howel Holland. According to Gfs, Howel married Arddyn vch John Vychan ap John ap Gruffydd ap Johnap Howel ap Madog of Llyn which agrees with the family tree in the Dwnns Heradic Visitations of Wales.

HHE has him married to Lleiki vch Gruffydd ap Ednwch ap Einion Lloydap i'r Penwyn o Melai, and LDS has his wife as Lleucu vch Grufydd of Rhiwlas, Denbighshire.

Perhaps he married more than once, if so there is no clue as to which spouse was the father of his son John.
I suspect that Gfs regurgitated the Dwnn pedigree and as we don't know the origin of this data I have chosen to use the HHE and LDS information with respect to the mother of John as they appear to agree on Howel's wifes name if not her place of origin. Both wives names are shown for completeness.
